About Me

My photo
Hampshire, United Kingdom
In July 2010 I graduated from KLC School of Design in London with a Professional Diploma in Interior Design (please see the tabs below for course details and project portfolios). Since September 2010 I've been working for a local interior design practice just outside Alton in Hampshire. Through this blog, I hope to share with you products which I like and things which inspire me - together with the odd post about my own home which is a working project. A good home is never finished!

Accessories ..... Cushions and Rugs

I love accessories and came across lots of lovely things when I was doing my course, but the prices of some of these are not for the faint hearted!

First of all, cushions ...

These cushions are from Spina Design and
the price of these is by quotation only!
Swarovski crystals are threaded onto
Italian Alcantara.

The cushions on the left are also from
Spina Design and are made from suede and
have feather trims.

I also love this Rochester cushion from Designers Guild (a bargain at £95 per cushion!) - and it comes in my favourite colours:

For something a bit more hardwearing, these tapestry cushions from The Rug Company are quite striking .....and quite expensive.

Dahlia Red by Paul Smith

The Dahlia cushion retails at £345 including VAT and the Peony is £495 including VAT.

We have these silk cushions at home from John Lewis (not luxury, not expensive and not at all practical for everyday use on a sofa!).  But I do still love them and have just discovered you can still buy them!  As they're only £15 each I shall be replacing ours!

On one of my projects I used this Tessica Pouffe from John Lewis £120.  Although for my project I chose grey because that worked better with the scheme, I prefer the claret colour shown here.

I also like the cushions below, again from John Lewis.

Round Flower Cushion £30

Ruffles Cushion £25

Quite often cushions have a polyester filled cushion pad but they can look much nicer if you replace the polyester cushion pad with a feather one - then they look really nice when they're plumped up!

Whilst looking at the Rug Company website, have a look at their rugs!  They produce their own rug designs and also have rugs by designers such as Emily Todhunter, Paul Smith, Vivienne Westwood and Nina Campbell, (in addition to offering a bespoke design service).  These are a couple of my favourites.  I saw the Catella rug at Decorex last month and it's fabulous!

Another supplier of rugs (and carpets) is Jacaranda.  They supply carpets, have stock rugs and also supply all stock rugs as a made to measure service.

If you like sculpted rugs, or something a bit differ Top Floor Rugs have some lovely and unusual designs like this rose sculpted Elise rug and the Ethereal rug.
